Top 32 Coffee Gifts for Every Coffee Lover

As a proficient gift-giver, I find coffee gifts to be a safe bet for any occasion. Whether it’s for an espresso enthusiast or a casual coffee drinker, there’s something for everyone. This year, I gifted my dad a Trade Coffee subscription for his birthday, which was a hit and led to him requesting more of the Blendo Stupendo beans for Father’s Day.

Below, I’ve compiled a list of 32 excellent coffee gifts, including products that have won our equipment reviews or are favorites among Serious Eats staff.

These gifts are categorized by coffee maker type for easier browsing.

Automatic drip coffee makers are user-friendly, making them ideal for those early morning brews. Our top picks include the feature-packed OXO model with a single cup option and the programmable Breville, which was the Serious Eats office coffee maker for years.

For those who already own a coffee maker but still use pre-ground coffee, a good coffee grinder can significantly enhance their coffee experience. Our favorite OXO grinder is under $100, features a twist top for grind adjustment, and a single start/stop button. Additionally, a kitchen scale is recommended (our top pick is the OXO model) to ensure the correct coffee-to-water ratio for consistently great coffee.

Quality coffee beans are always a welcome gift. With a Trade Coffee subscription, you can enjoy excellent bean quality and experience. Fellow’s vacuum coffee canister is our favorite for preserving bean quality and its sleek design. Lastly, a nice mug is essential, and our top choices are the Fellow travel mug and the East Fork mugs, loved by Serious Eats staff.

**Espresso Gifts**
– Breville Bambino Plus Espresso Machine: $486 at Amazon, $500 at Williams Sonoma

– Breville Barista Express Impress: $900 at Amazon, $800 at Williams Sonoma
– Baratza Encore ESP: $200 at Amazon, $200 at Williams Sonoma
– OXO Precision Scale with Timer: $54 at Amazon, $56 at Williams Sonoma
– Crema Distributor & Hand Tamper: $44 at Amazon
– Crema Coffee Products The Arc: $55 at Amazon
– Le Creuset Espresso Mug: $14 at Amazon, $14 at Williams Sonoma
– Le Creuset Cappuccino Cups and Saucers Set: $45 at Williams Sonoma

While our favorite espresso machines come with a higher price tag, they make for generous and wonderful gifts.

The Breville Bambino Plus is our longtime recommendation for those who enjoy the process of crafting espresso. It’s a good option for those wanting to tinker a bit. For those seeking automation, the Breville Barista Express Impress comes with a built-in grinder and tamper, simplifying the more challenging aspects of espresso making.

Machines lacking a built-in grinder require a separate espresso grinder, as regular coffee grinders often don’t provide the necessary fine grind for espresso. The Baratza Encore ESP offers 20 micro-adjustments, allowing for precise fine-tuning of your espresso shots. Additionally, many espresso enthusiasts would appreciate a new tamper. Crema’s tamper features a distributor on one side and a leveler on the other.

We advocate for brewing by weight, which is why every espresso lover should own a coffee scale. The OXO scale is responsive and has a padded, heat-safe platform. For spent grounds disposal, a high-quality knockbox is essential. Crema offers a stylish option with a sleek wooden lid. When it comes to enjoying your espresso, Le Creuset’s stoneware cups are a favorite. They are durable and come with saucers.

Pour-Over Gifts: Kalita Wave Dripper ($35) and Kalita Coffee Server ($28) are our top choices for durability and brewing experience. A variable temperature gooseneck kettle, like Fellow Stagg EKG Electric ($165), is crucial for precise pouring in pour-over brewing. The 1Zpresso Handheld Grinder ($139) is perfect for small output grinding, and the Acaia Pearl ($295) offers data connectivity and a flow rate indicator for managing pouring speed. The Ember Smart Mug 2 ($130) is an excellent choice for maintaining the perfect temperature of your pour-over coffee.

French Press Gifts: The Fellow Clara French Press ($99) and YETI French Press Coffee Maker ($110) are both excellent choices. The OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle ($105) and Hearth Glass Coffee Mugs ($22) are also great additions to your French press coffee experience. French press coffee can be a delightful surprise, offering a rich and satisfying flavor profile.

Our longtime favorite French press is from Fellow. It has a weighted handle and even comes with a wooden spoon for breaking the crust and stirring the coffee during brewing.

We also recently reviewed the Yeti French press and really liked it. It produces a super clean, silt – free cup.

With French press, you don’t need a gooseneck spout, but it’s still helpful to have a variable temperature electric kettle for different beans. This one from OXO has a digital screen and is reasonably priced.

No matter the brewing method, this coffee mug from Hearth is very cool (or should I say hot?). It has a double – walled glass design.

An Aeropress is a classic for good reason. If I was giving one as a gift, I’d opt for a colorful option like the purple, pink, or blue Aeropress.

Another can’t – miss brewer is the Moka pot. When I went to culinary school in Italy, I used one every morning for espresso – like coffee. Bialetti makes the best.

Now, while Nespresso isn’t for serious coffee people, a lot of folks will appreciate (and use!) the convenient appliance. Our top pick is relatively affordable and you might as well snag some pods to go with it (regular or decaf). In that same vein, we also have a Keurig coffee maker we recommend.
